Thanksgiving is this week and I have seen a lot of people on Facebook posting what they are thankful for everyday. I haven’t don’t that but I have thought about what I am thankful for. The biggest thing is my family for without them I don’t know what I would do. My next thing that I am truly great full for are my closest friends. There are several that I talk to on a regular basis and without them, I don’t know what I would do. There is one in particular that I can truly say that I can pour my heart out to and they will not judge me and will listen to anything I say, and for that I am thankful.
I am also thankful for my health, because without it I wouldn’t be here. It has been almost two years now since my heart attack, next month marks my 2nd anniversary. Wow! Time sure flies. If there is one thing that I can’t stress enough is that you need to take care of yourself!!!!!!! You can’t help what genetics have been given you, but you can take steps to a better lifestyle and good health.
This is me now. I am thankful that I am able to be here to pose for this picture.
Yes this is me on March 6, 2011. I can’t believe that I am even putting this on here. This was my first profile pic on Facebook and I couldn’t wait to change it! Nine months later I would have my heart attack. I am still thankful for the co worker that inspired me to lose weight. From my highest weight until my heart attack I lost 50 pounds and forty of that was the encouragement of my co worker. I have told him so many times that I am soooo thankful for losing it, because my doctor told me that if I hadn’t of lost it, I would have died. That is something that I will always be thankful for. Since December 2011 till now I have lost an additional 15 pounds. When I look at my before and after pictures I can’t believe how I have changed. On a side note, I was not an over weight child or teen, I gained my weight when I was an at home mom. I think my hand was in the cookie jar too much :).
I am so thankful that I am still here to cross things off of my bucket list. I have so much more that I want to do in life whether with family, friends or all by myself. Thank you Lord for giving me another chance at life!
